​This presentation begins by providing history about stink bugs and their emergence in the Mid-South as a significant pest. Additional topics include the stink bug life cycle, seasonal shifts in stink bug species, stink bugs versus tarnished plant bugs, spraying for stink bugs, scouting for stink bugs, types of damage caused by stink bugs, decision-making aids, the stink bug threshold, and stink bug controls.

About the Presenter

​Scott GrahamScott Graham is an assistant professor and Extension specialist in entomology and plant pathology at Auburn University. He holds BS and MS degrees in agronomy and entomology, respectively, from Mississippi State University and a PhD in entomology from The University of Tennessee. His research is based on developing IPM practices for Alabama cotton, soybean, and peanut producers with the goal of enhancing their economic sustainability and productivity. His Extension work involves developing and presenting educational programs related to IPM for these crops to Extension agents, producers, consultants, and other agricultural professionals across the state—again with the goal of improving producers’ economic sustainability.
