About the Presenter

Yangxuan LiuYangxuan Liu is an assistant professor in the Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics at the University of Georgia, Tifton. She focuses on economic issues related to cotton production and specializes in agricultural financ​e and agribusiness management. Her research focuses on economic and risk assessment of existing agricultural systems as well as emerging technologies and practices to improve long-term sustainability and profitability of agricultural production. Liu’s Extension programs address current and emerging state and national issues related primarily to cotton marketing, production economics, farm management, and agricultural policy. Ultimately, Liu hopes to apply her interdisciplinary knowledge to Georgia and global cotton production to improve the agricultural productivity for the world’s growing population. Liu has a BS degree in economics from the University of Macau and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in agricultural economics from Purdue University.
