Summary

​This presentation describes nutrient uptake efficiency (nutrient application versus nutrient uptake by the crop) and methods for enhancing efficiency. Nitrogen and phosphorus uptake by alfalfa, corn, cotton, and winter wheat are discussed. Results of soil testing and fertilizer trials are reviewed. Issues related to reduced water are discussed.

About the Presenter

Greg Binford Greg Binford, director of advanced agronomy training for Wilbur-Ellis, grew up on a corn and soybean farm in Indiana. He earned his B.A. degree in agronomy from Clemson University and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in soil fertility from Iowa State University. Prior to Wilbur-Ellis, Greg worked for the University of Nebraska, Pioneer Hi-Bred International, and the University of Delaware.
