This presentation will help consultants, growers, and other practitioners in the North-Central, and Southern U.S. understand and manage soybean seed quality. A good soybean crop begins with good seed, but there are many factors that can affect the quality of soybean seed. In this presentation, we will describe the differences between seed germination and seed vigor and how seed vigor is measured. We will then cover the major abiotic and biotic factors that affect soybean seed quality, general methods to preserve seed quality and tips for growers buying seed.
