Summary

This presentation focuses on the foliar fungal pathogen Cercospora sojina, causal agent of frogeye leaf spot of soybean. Under favorable conditions, this disease can cause substantial yield loss and/or issues with seed quality in many soybean producing regions in the United States. This presentation will discuss the biology of the fungus and conditions that favor infection and disease development. Management options and current recommendations will also be presented.​

About the Presenter

Kiersten WiseKiersten Wise conducts a research program for which the goal to develop economical and sustainable disease management practices for agronomic field crops. This is achieved by studying the effects of management techniques on the biology of plant diseases. Through this research, management practices can be selected that will improve crop production efficiency and simultaneously increase awareness of how diseases interact with their hosts.​
