Summary

This presentation will help consultants, growers, and other practitioners better understand management strategies for frogeye leaf spot in light of QoI fungicide resistance that has developed in the pathogen population. This presentation discusses the current distribution of QoI fungicide resistant Cercospora sojina (the fungal agent of frogeye leaf spot disease in soybean); results from trials conducted on QoI fungicide resistant isolates in the lab and field, and management strategies for frogeye leaf spot and fungicide resistance in soybean.​

About the Presenter

Heather M. KellyHeather M. Kelly is an Assistant Professor of Plant Pathology with a 70% Extension and 30% Research appointment in the Entomology and Plant Pathology Department at the University of Tennessee. She is stationed at the West Tennessee Research and Education Center in Jackson, TN and is the leader of the UT Extension and Research disease management programs for field crops including soybean, corn, cotton, and wheat. Dr. Kelly received her BS in Biological Sciences and her MS in Science Teaching from Florida State University; and her PhD in Plant Pathology from University of Florida. Dr. Kelly manages cooperative efforts to develop disease management strategies and information on the epidemiology of plant diseases that is utilized in disease forecast modeling to improve crop production efficiency.​
