Summary

At the end of the soybean growing season attention can turn away from insect pests, but in the R5 and R6 growth stages insects can still be a factor. This presentation reviews some of the insects that feed on soybean seeds and pods later in the season. In particular this talk will cover stink bugs, bean leaf beetles, and grasshoppers. It will provide crop managers with information on scouting and thresholds for these later-season insects in soybean.
